Current LA: General event Help / set-up / clean-up - Sunday Oct 6, 3-9pm for 6 hours We're looking for a few volunteers to help us with our Current LA: Food program with Gloria Galvez. ABOUT THE PROGRAM A screening of "Going Bananas" by Gloria Galvez—an animated film on the problematic history and contemporary condition of bananas sold to Western countries—accompanied by a meal of snack-sized banana foods and a discussion of the film. Viewers will be invited to contribute to Galvez's online archiving art and activism project.

If you need hours ASAP sign up here to come by the space Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm and we can have you help clean, organize, or run errands. Feel free to email emily@wccw.us with any volunteer inquiries. Work Trade All volunteer hours are eligible to be traded in for WCCW Membership: 1 hour of work a month equals a Torchbearer level membership ($10 value) 2 hours of work a month equals a Warrior level membership ($40 value) 6 hours of work a month equals a Goddess level membership ($125 value).

Description
Join us for a planting day at the Women's Center of Creative Work! We're preparing the ground to reestablish the pollinator garden but we need your help to spread the compost and mulch, plus any wheelbarrows, shovels, gloves, and trowels you might have on hand. We'll be sifting the compost too, so another sifter would certainly be handy. This will be a great chance to learn about composting and check out how the system works at WCCW. Plus, any extra mulch we have at the end will be yours to take!
